Benjamin Albrecht will answer the question – “We Received a Complaint… Now what?!” at the Ohio Job and Family Services Directors’ Association’s 2025 Annual Training Conference.
Inevitably, a crisis involving an employee will occur – usually at an inconvenient time or when you least expect it! How the JFS responds to and investigates the crisis often helps to place it in the best position to succeed in a subsequent administrative matter, arbitration or civil litigation. Because the potential legal hurdles in an internal investigation are becoming increasingly more complicated, it is imperative to understand the impact of a variety of legal responsibilities and due process protections that must be provided along the way. This session will address how to successfully pursue an internal disciplinary case from the time the complaint is received through any subsequent disciplinary hearing. Additional concerns beyond the disciplinary process related to the internal investigation will also be reviewed.
The 2-day event is entitled “Inspire” and Ben will do just that as he speaks at a breakout session on May 9th. This year’s conference is being held at the Hyatt Regency in Columbus. For more on OJFSDA, click here. For the complete agenda, click here.
